Come on in, and we'll measure up your finger sizes and calculate your hand span. Once you’re measured up, we'll record your hand measurement and save it on file.

If you’re just starting out, we'll set you up with either a conventional or finger -tip layout. There are other optional layouts available as well, so just ask if you’re interested in one of these.

So whether your a trandtional bowler, a palm bowler, or the new 2 hand style, you'll be taken care of.

We want to make sure that the ball fits your hand like a glove. If you don't have the right measurements, then you may perhaps risk altering the size of your fingers and thumb. This is the most important aspect to your new bowling ball, and requires a skilled pro shop operator to perform this task.

Bowling balls have advanced tremendously in the last 5 years, with high tech weight blocks that guide the ball to the pocket, and complex multiple resin compounds for traction or slide characteristics.

With a more advanced bowling ball, we can change or modify the balls physics to match your game or play style.  We can make the ball startup early, or delay the weight block flip for a little later down the lane.

Our pro shop staff has over 50 years of ball motion experience, and knows the unique characteristics of every ball on our shelf’s. With this knowledge, were able to fine tune the performance of your ball to match your skill level, for higher game averages or simply, with more consistent carry.

Come on in and talk to one of our pro shop staff members for consulting and suggestions. Make sure you bring one your favorite balls for examination.

Not every house you bowl in will be the same. They all have different lane surfaces, and use a different oiling system. Older houses still use wood lanes, and some of them have plastic overlays on top of the wood. Wood will generate more friction, causing your ball to read earlier and perhaps hook way more over to the 7 pin if your right handed.

Newer or refurbished houses have synthetic surfaces that simulate wood. These surfaces are much harder than wood, and offer less hook than wood lanes. Today's professional bowling centers are al using synthetic surfaces, which is now the industry standard.

If you have an existing ball from a league in another house, and are now bowling here at Fountain Bowl, you may perhaps wish to consider a surface change to your ball.

Of course, we can also just fine tune your ball even more by just making a surface adjustment to your ball. We can take down the smoothness with wet sanding or the use of an abralon pad, or make the surface even smoother by taking it up to 4000 grit.

Surface changes are tricky, so they should be double checked here at the pro shop before being preformed.

As your skill level increases, you may wish to start using finger inserts or thumb slugs in your favorite ball. There optional, and it's merely just a preference by the bowler.

Finger inserts such as the Vise Grips are nice and comfortable for my fingers, I like them because I fell like I'll getting a little more friction on my finger tips to generate a tad more lift. When they wear out, I just have the pro shop put new ones in.

One of the other benefits of finger inserts is that if I want to make my finger holes bigger or smaller, I can just have the grip changed out to another size.

Many bowlers use thumb slugs for their thumbholes today. What's nice about them, is that you can get a better more accurate fit, and have them replaced if you want to change your thumbhole size to a smaller one.

There are hundreds of thumb slug solutions available today. Some are pre-molded into an oval in many sizes and colors, while the rest have to be drilled to fit.

We can even make a mold of your favorite thumbhole, and cast several of them for you, so every thumbhole is the same.

Whether you getting a conventional or finger tip ball, we have several drill preses on site that will do the job with precision accuracy. We use only the highest quality drill bits with laser weled tips for the cleanest cuts possible.

We can drill a hole at almost any angle into the ball, allowing for super accurate, finger and thumb pitch angles. So extreme pitch angles are not a problem.

After drilling your ball, we will weigh it to make sure that it conforms to USBC regulations. If not, we will make the needed adjustments to get it into specfication.

After the drilling and weighing process, you can have your name engraved into the surface, and filled in with the appropiate color.

Our Haus Resurfacing machine will return the roundness of your ball, while providing a fresh factory surface to it as well. The pads are interchangable, so we can apply any custom surface of your choice. We reccomend this process to your favorite bowling ball at least once a season.

Sometimes, a ball will have to be ran through our machine for up to an hour, to correct an oblong shape created by an inexperience ball spinner operator. This machine will cover the entire surface of the ball, wihtout having to manually rotate it.
